| Description: | An interesting and commercial role exists with a one of the World's largest and most successful industrial groups. As a result of a team member relocating abroad for personal reasons, the Regional Head of Tax requires a person to take on the majority of the UK and international compliance and reporting work of the EMEA team. The individual in question will also expand into a number of other areas in order to develop an understanding of the business that will in time lead to advising on major projects.
You will gain exposure to a wide range of areas of tax, including bothUKand international corporate tax, transfer pricing, VAT, expatriate tax and also ad-hoc project work on matters such as structuring joint ventures. The role will allow you to gain a deep understanding of the inner-workings of the business as a whole as well as regional entities. You will benefit highly from the level of training on offer and The Regional Head of Tax is keen to invest the time in making the successful candidate comfortable in the role.
Principal work activities:
* Involvement in the group's tax compliance and tax reporting processes including the management of corporate tax compliance for theUnited Kingdom.
* Assisting with a range of domestic and international tax projects and research.
* Assisting with transfer pricing analyses and documentation.
* Providing practical tax advice to business units on the initial structuring and ongoing lifecycle of projects.
Experience required:
* Working knowledge of tax law and project planning and preferably holding an accounting qualification (ACA or equivalent) and/or tax qualification (CTA)
* Practical work experience with tax laws and regulations for a multinational corporation or within a law firm or accounting firm.
* Technical skills in individual and corporate areas of the tax law (principallyUK- international knowledge will be developed).
* Skill in oral and written communication and analysis of work processes.
