Well regarded private client practice seeks a Director to join their Midlands team. This opportunity offers you a stimulating blend of technical and advisory work, allowing you to focus on advising an impressive range of entrepreneurial and high net worth clients, as well as offering excellent potential for professional and personal development in a challenging and exciting environment. Would suit an experienced Big 4 trained Senior Manager looking for a step up, or an existing Director. You will need proven business development expertise.
As a Director you will:
Be in charge of the day to day running of the Birmingham and Nottingham Private Clients Practice, managing a small team of advisory professionals;
Manage the advisory work on a varied portfolio of high net worth individuals and entrepreneurs. This consists of all aspects of personal tax advice including shareholder planning, non domicile/international advice;
Exploit the entrepreneurial business opportunity, working closely with the audit and business tax teams to build the business, going out to market together;
Build and maintain excellent client relationships and identify opportunities for new work;
Become involved in tax planning projects and ad-hoc advisory work, which may cover international aspects such as domicile and offshore trust work;
Get involved in the local business networks to build up the referral network and ensure full coverage of the opportunities to win new work;
Help accelerate the development of the local Private Client team and their skill set to deliver on complex advisory projects.
To qualify you will have:
A proven track record of advising high net worth individuals on both UK and international personal tax issues. Expertise in domicile and offshore trust related matters would be advantageous
Experience of managing and developing a team
Strong technical skills in relation to UK personal, partnership and trust/estate taxation and report writing skills.
A solid understanding of UK tax legislation, ideally gained through studying for the CTA qualification.
Experience of managing, developing and maintaining client relationships
Evidence of winning new work
Excellent inter-personal skills, including the ability to prepare proposals and deliver client presentations
A high level of self-motivation and a "can-do" attitude
