This is a rare opportunity to secure a mixed corporate and employment tax role on a part time basis working a 25 hours per week for a 12 months fixed term contract. You will be working part of a UK tax team taking responsibility for employee tax matters (with support/oversight from UK Head of Tax as appropriate) In addition, you will support the UK Head of Tax on corporate tax matters with day to day responsibility for compliance type activities.


Responsibilities

Employee taxes

* Strategic responsibility for ensuring employee tax matters are referred to the UK tax department
* Maintenance and development of appropriate internal and external relationships in order to ensure referral of appropriate issues and ability to deal with technical issues arising
* Identification and follow up of potential opportunities for tax claims and savings in the employee taxes area
* To provide guidelines for and review the quarterly information provided by HR on short term business visitors and flag any actions required; to submit the annual information required to HMRC
* To provide guidelines for and collate information from the businesses for the completion and submission of the annual PAYE settlement agreement; to deal with annual renewal of the PSA
* To collate information from the businesses for the completion and submission of the annual taxed award scheme returns; to provide guidance to the businesses in this area as required; to deal with any renewals of relevant schemes
* To review (and possibly collate) information for the completion of the annual share scheme returns
* To perform regular "healthcheck" audits of internal employee tax processes and procedures
* To respond to ad hoc queries as appropriate (with support from other team members as required) - both internal and external
* To monitor relevant legislation and technical bulletins and flag areas of potential opportunity for possible follow up

Corporation tax

*To respond to ad hoc queries as appropriate (with support from other team members as required) - both internal and external
* To monitor relevant legislation and technical bulletins and flag areas of potential opportunity for possible follow up
* To monitor adherence of the UK businesses to the relevant transfer pricing policies
* To collate information in order to prepare the annual corporation tax returns of UK companies (1 significant, divisionalized, active trading company plus various other smaller active and dormant/near dormant companies) - knowledge of Alphatax corporation tax software would be helpful in this regard
