Our client is a successful & innovative multinational that creates and sells products around the world. This growing US manufacturer has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Tax Manager or Tax Director, with Western European tax experience, to join its new European Headquarters in Prague.
In this greenfield position, you will set up the tax infrastructure in Europe and manage special projects. The priorities include international tax, transfer pricing, tax provisioning (US GAAP) and handling tax audits.
In addition to setting up the tax department, the incoming Senior Tax Manager or Tax Director will take responsibility for treasury matters. This will include cash management, managing foreign exchange exposures and looking at US GAAP considerations. This treasury element is likely to account for approx 10 - 20% of the role.
This is a rare opportunity to join a successful, growing multinational and set up its European Tax department. To fulfil the requirements of this position you will need around 10 years of relevant European tax experience from either a big 4 firm or the ‘in-house’ tax department of a multinational (preferably US) company. Strong international tax & transfer pricing experience is required, whilst you will need to know enough about tax accounting & reporting to be able to manage the US GAAP tax provisioning process. Prior treasury experience would be an advantage, but is not essential. An enthusiasm to learn about, and take ownership of European treasury matters is far more important. Full support will be provided by the Global Head of Treasury, based in the US.
