One year on from the earthquake that damaged or destroyed many of Christchurch’s oldest buildings, billions of dollars in reconstruction and restoration funds are pouring into the city, amounting to one of the largest capital expenditures in the current developed world. As a result, New Zealand’s second largest city will be one of the economically vibrant regions in the southern hemisphere and will boast a modern city centre, retaining and attracting investment and millions of visitors annually.
Far from being ruined, the city and its people are determined to enjoy the economic “silver lining” of the earthquake and are looking forward to the exciting reconstruction projects as they start to commence.
Despite the widely publicized losses and damage, much of Christchurch has returned to “business as usual” which coupled with above mentioned expenditure has led to a dramatic increase in work for our client, the local office of one of the world’s largest chartered accounting firms.
With just over 100 staff in total, our client’s new single storied, open plan office is situated just outside of the city centre, in one of greater Christchurch’s more picturesque suburbs.
We are seeking expressions of interest from qualified, experienced corporate tax professionals whose background includes consulting and compliance work in a large chartered accounting firm, law firm or corporate.
In the current global economic climate there are very few opportunities like this for international candidates to take advantage of their skills and experience in a new and exciting location.
The successful candidate will have close access to leading clients whilst working within an open and relaxed team and enjoying the globally envied lifestyle on offer in New Zealand.
This role is ideally suited to candidates with 2-4 years Corporate Tax experience who are interested in either permanent migration to New Zealand or a “working holiday” for 12 months or more.
Assistance with relocation and Visas will be negotiated and arranged by our client as appropriate.
