One of the world's premier financial services organisations has an opportunity on offer to manage its tax affairs across Europe in a newly created role. With operations all over the globe the company boasts many trillion dollars worth of assets under custody and under management.
Specifics of this role are:
§ Lead European income tax (direct corporate level) planning strategies and compliance as part of a global multinational tax team
§ Develop, evaluate, and implement European tax planning opportunities impacting global effective tax rate management including tax related support in respect of mergers and acquisitions, business dispositions, corporate restructurings and reorganisations.
§ Coordinate review, negotiation, and receipt of rulings and tax clearances as necessary to implement planning opportunities
§ Coordinate corporate level (direct) tax compliance preparation of European subsidiaries and branches
§ Provide tax technical assistance to European finance controllers with respect to tax accounting issues
§ Manage relationships with external advisers across multiple jurisdictions as required in tax planning matters
§ Monitor European tax legislation and administrative rulings and apprise global tax team of matters that impact organisation
§ Liaise with global Finance, Legal and line of business colleagues to ensure that tax efficient structures are appropriately reviewed, implemented, documented, and maintained
§ Consider, implement, and document transfer pricing considerations relevant to effective tax rate management planning.
About you:
§ Tax qualified or legal degree equivalent preferred
§ Strong Belgium Tax technical background with experience in international tax planning and cross border Belgian tax issues
§ Minimum 7-10 years experience
§ Strong communication skills
§ Fluent in French and English preferable
§ Strong team player
