Your skill set will be enhanced with us as you work across our different services including the drafting of pleadings and legal research. Whilst autonomy is encouraged the team network will always be there for you if and when you need support and advice.


Responsibilities will include:

l Drafting pleadings;
l Legal research;
l Drafting Instructions to Counsel and taking notes at Conferences with Counsel;
l Assisting with the preparation of bundles of documents for litigation and Conferences with Counsel;
l Attending court and note taking where required;
l Dealing with Tax Tribunal and HM Revenue & Customs' ("HMRC") correspondence. Ensuring correspondence is distributed to the appropriate staff/partners;
l Responding to correspondence and drafting appropriate letters and notices when required;
l Maintaining a database of our clients and the responsible staff/partners;
l Maintaining a case law tracker of all cases before each court tier;
l Ensuring that all deadlines (e.g. stand overs, extensions of time, hearing dates etc) are kept to, and that all staff/partners involved are aware of these deadlines;
l Internal minute taking;
l Liaising with Counsel's clerks, the Tax Tribunal, the High Court and the Court of Appeal;
l Dealing with cost claims and preparing costs schedules for submission to HMRC;
l Assistance with business development and marketing;
l Assistance with billing and client acceptance procedures;
l General assistance as required.



To be considered, you must possess:


l A good academic background;
l Proven strong administrative and organisational skills ideally gained in a legal practice;
l Ability to draft routine court documents with minimal supervision;
l Proven IT skills and competency in Excel; and
l A legal qualification and the completion of a LPC or BVC are desirable attributes as is prior tax experience.
